Dianne Stewart is a multi-genre author who has published over 35 books, some award-winning.  She also writes for children.

Many of her children’s books have been published internationally and also translated into African Languages. She was named by Biblionef for her work in the field of picture  books and mentoring writers.

She is a creative writing facilitator and many of her mentees have published their own work. For example, a young woman has published her first adult novel and another has published a number of inspirational books for an adult audience.

She has also published SEA SAND AND SKY, an inspirational book, that has led to her talking to groups as a motivational speaker and at conferences.

As a creative writing facilitator, Dianne project managed and wrote for a Fundza project in KwaZulu-Natal, where five experienced authors were paired with five  previously disadvantaged writers, producing an anthology IT TAKES TWO. Dianne has also facilitated the flow of books into disadvantaged schools.

Dianne published a collection of poetry, MOSAIC, on behalf of a young woman poet.

Dianne is a full-time writer of fiction and non-fiction in KwaZulu Natal and gives writing workshops in schools, tertiary institutions and to adult groups across South Africa.

She has facilitated Short story, Story Development and Memoir Writing workshops at the Univir University of Cape Town Summer School and at the Franschhoek Literary Festival, where she has also chaired panels of authors.

Dianne has assessed manuscripts for publishers and reviews books for publications.

Dianne is married to Rodger Stewart and they have four daughters: Jessica, Lissa, Caroline and Lauren and two granddaughters, Hannah and Olivia.
